We can tell our nervous system it is safe with specific kinds of touches, self-talk, and breathing.  When it feels safe, the anxiety goes away because there is no danger. 

When this is applied repeatedly and consistently, your body will habitualize feeling calm instead of anxious because it will know it is safe.
